Pfeiffer first went on Fox News Sunday and told Chris Wallace that the physical location of the president during the Benghazi attacks was an, “irrelevant fact.”

WALLACE: with all due respect, you didn’t answer my question. what did the president do that night?

PFEIFFER:  kept up to date with the events as they were happening.

WALLACE: he didn’t talk to the secretary of state except for the one time when the first attack was over. he didn’t talk to the secretary of defense, he didn’t talk to chiefs. the chairman of the joint who was he talking to?

PFEIFFER:  his national security staff, his national security council.

WALLACE: was he in the situation room?

PFEIFFER:  he was kept up to date throughout the day.

WALLACE: do you know know whether he was in the situation room?

PFEIFFER:  i don’t know what room he was in that night. that’s a largely irrelevant fact.

WALLACE: well –

PFEIFFER:  the premise of your question, somehow there was something that could have been done differently, okay, that would have changed the outcome here. the accountability roof board has looked at this, people have looked at this. it’s a horrible tragedy, and we have to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Next, Pfieffer told CBS Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer that the identity of the Obama administration official who crafted the deceitful Benghazi talking points is also an, “irrelevant” fact.

“Let’s start with Susan Rice,”  said Pfeiffer. “Ambassador Rice went out that day, and represented the administration and spoke to what happened with the best information we had, that everyone in the administration had, is what she looked at. And that was the consensus of the intelligence community. What we do is we want to go out and speak to the problems … And what’s important is that when problems happen is that the president takes responsibility for them and tries to fix them. And that’s what we’re talking about in Benghazi. You’re right, that is an abosulute tragedy what happened. And the question isn’t who edited what talking points. That is largely irrelevant. What is relevant is to make sure that never happens again which is why the president is calling on Congress to pass legislation to beef up embassy security around the world and protect our diplomats.”

Every detail is irrelevant to this White House, because the details of all of these scandals are inconvenient facts that will lead to embarrassment, accountability and potential criminal culpability or worse in the eyes of this White House: reasons to defeat their agenda at the ballot box in 2014.

The reason these details matter about where the President was during the Benghazi attack is because he is the commander in chief and when Americans come under attack we want to know that POTUS isn’t kicking back watching ESPN during a firefight at an under-secured facility in the fifth most dangerous place in the world.  The reason details matter is because the families of the fallen deserve to know that our commander in chief is marshaling all available resources to avoid leaving men behind on the field of battle.  The reason details matter is because the men and women who place themselves in harm’s way need to have the confidence that our government will do everything in its power to come to their aide and rescue when attacked by the enemy.

Gregory Hicks, the second-highest state department official in Libya during the attack and last person to talk to Ambassador Stevens, recently told Congress that he spoke with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the night of the attack and informed her that it was terrorist-related. He also called for military backup to defend the embassy, but nearby military personnel were told to stand down. After the attacks Hicks was demoted and told not to speak about the events, despite his over twenty years of service.

Reporters also have discovered edits to Ambassador Rice’s talking points which reveal that the State Department revised the talking points twelve times. Initially the attack was blamed on terrorist groups like Ansar al-Sharia, but by the twelfth edit the talking points had been scrubbed and no longer reflected the truth.

It’s clear from the Benghazi whistleblowers that the American people were blatantly lied to by this administration from the beginning. President Obama and Former Secretary of State Clinton knew that Benghazi was a terrorist attack and left our embassy to fend for itself. They sat by while our men died, and then lied to us to protect their own political careers.

The families of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, and Sean Smith deserve justice and the American people deserve the truth.

“A source with intimate information about the events that happened on the ground in Benghazi the night the U.S. Consulate and the CIA annex was attacked by terrorists told Breitbart News that, ultimately, only the President of the United States, or someone acting on his authority, could have prevented Special Forces either on the ground or nearby from helping those Americans who were under deadly assault.

According to the source, when the attack on the Consulate occurred, a specific chain of command to gain verbal permission to move special-forces in must have occurred. SOCAFRICA commander Lieutenant Col. Gibson would have contacted a desk officer at the time, asking for that permission.

That desk officer would have called Marine Corps Col. George Bristol, then in command of Joint Special Operations Task Force-Trans Sahara. From there, Bristol would have made contact with Rear Admiral Brian Losey, then Commander of Special Operations Command Africa. Losey would have contacted four-star General Carter Ham, commander of U.S. AFRICOM at the time.

“Ham answers directly to the President of the United States,” said the source. It wasn’t a low-level bureaucrat making the call, the source adamantly added.”

On the night of the Benghazi terror attack, special operations put out multiple calls for all available military and other assets to be moved into position to help — but the State Department and White House never gave the military permission to cross into Libya, sources told Fox News.  The disconnect was one example of what sources described as a communication breakdown that left those on the ground without outside help.

“When you are on the ground, you depend on each other — we’re gonna get through this situation. But when you look up and then nothing outside of the stratosphere is coming to help you or rescue you, that’s a bad feeling,” one source said.  Multiple sources spoke to Fox News about what they described as a lack of action in Benghazi on Sept. 11 last year, when four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed.

“I thought it was a terrorist attack from the get-go,” Gregory Hicks, a foreign service officer and former deputy chief of Libyan operations, told investigators, according to excerpts of the interview displayed today on CBS’s “Face the Nation” program. “I never reported a demonstration, I reported an attack on the consulate.”

Congressman Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee, appeared on Face the Nation to make a very strong case according to eyewitness testimony that the White House knew terrorism was the cause of the attacks in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.  In his testimony, Hicks points the finger at un-names senior State Department personnel above the level of, “assistant secretary:”

“In our system, people who make decisions have been confirmed by the Senate to make decisions,” Hicks told investigators.”The three people in the State Department who are on administrative leave pending disciplinary action are below Senate confirmation level. Now, the DS (Diplomatic Security) assistant secretary resigned, and he is at Senate confirmation level. Yet the paper trail is pretty clear that decisions were being made above his level.”
