New Harper/VSA Poll Shows Two-Person Race in Arizona Gubernatorial Primary
Sioux Falls, SD – Last week Veterans for a Strong America and Harper Polling conducted a poll of likely Republican primary voters in Arizona.
The head-to-head results in the Arizona Governor’s race show that this is now a two-person race between Doug Ducey and Christine Jones. The poll also confirms that VSA’s ad on Jones’ praise of Hillary Clinton after the terrorist attacks in Benghazi is impacting voters’ views. Jones has the highest unfavorable rating among top-tier candidates.
Comparison between the VSA polls in Arizona:
June 27 July 21
Doug Ducey 33% 23%
Christine Jones 15% 21%
Scott Smith 14% 13%
Ken Bennett 12% 12%
Andy Thomas 3% 7%
Frank Riggs 2% 1%
Undecided 22% 22%
Joel Arends, Chairman of Veterans for a Strong America, said, “It’s no surprise that Christine Jones has the highest unfavorable ratings in the race because she’s the only candidate who lied about serving in the Air Force and simultaneously praised Hillary Clinton in the wake of the attacks on our consulate in Benghazi that left four Americans dead. Voters deserve strong leadership, not political back-slapping.”
